My Attempt at Moosic.... Dev. The Ep.

Well.... after a good somewhat inspiring weekend.  I threw together my own little ep.  It's just a start and would love to keep making more.  let me know what you think.  I love songs with beats, and luckily, my loop pedal allowed me to loop some beat boxing beats with my guitar.  Giving my songs some sense of ground and rhythm.   It's kinda rough... but i enjoy the sound.  If you really, really, REALLY like it ... don't be afraid to buy it. It's like what,  $2? ... i say its worth it haha. 

Lotus.

So, I'm pretty sure that many of ya'll have heard of Christina Aguilera.  Just a heads up, she is releasing a new album in a couple of days.  It comes out November 13, so next week.  It is titled Lotus.  I kinda liked her background behind the album.  But overall, the sound is very pop/dance.  Her vocals are killer, she's got a voice that needs not fixing.  From what i heard I like the direction she's going.  I would honestly love to see her going more mature and more classic sound instead of targeting the younger crowd.  But I'll give you an up to date when it actually comes out!

Advice, Don't Sell Your Soul... to anything

Ugh still currently trying to recover from one craaaazy night in the Forsaken Rec Center.  I worked for 18 hours straight at that place yesterday.  Now my feet are paying the price now.  So there are 2 things I learned from my experience.

1. Don't walk around barefoot.
2. Don't Sell Your Soul to Your Job

Fortunately i was getting paid for the misery and sweat i was shedding, so I made some decent cha-ching.  I just feel like spiting about how ridiculous the experience was.  But being the kind and caring blogger ... and being lazy, I don't feel like exploding about my long day in brutal detailing.  So, yes, you have been saved a half hour of reading my pointless blog.

Okay, who doesn't love Ellie Goulding? That's right, no one.  Have you bought her new album? Halcyon? I did, so should you. 

The Busy, Yet Good Day

Been pretty busy with work ... ugh don't get me started.  Too late, ever since i sold my soul to the Recreation Center i work at I've been practically living there ... but getting paid for it so thats nice.  I Head Guard as well as Coach the swim team (yes, got a promotion!! ^^) and i really enjoy my job.  I love the social aspect of my job, working and hanging out with kids my age and making tons of friends.  Tho the management is nothing more the a bunch of power hungry, soul sucking twenty year olds who get their kick from making us miserable.  But other then those ghouls I'm doing pretty great!

Now you somewhat understand my working atmosphere i will like to get going on my story! 

So i had to Coach a swim meet down in the salt lake valley in the distant district known as Cottonwood Heights.  I was pretty nervous because it was going to be me and the other assistant coach named Jill ( great gal ... taken ... ) and we were gonna be responsible for our team.  I was running late as normal thanks to the procrastinating genes as well i got lost ... thanks to the wonderful imap app on my iPod touch ... that brought me to an elementary school.  Luckily i called Jill and she helped me get out of the sticky situation.  

The meet was going great, Jill and I looked pretty official in our team polos and them clipboards.  People kept looking at us apparently according to Jill, I think it was because we looked fresh and hip.  I had a great time hanging out/ working with Jill.  She's a great gal, killer personality and might i add she is gorgeous.

Most of the guys at the Rec Center ( subtract the gays ... {not bashing gays, they're cool!}) are infatuated by Jill and constantly talk about her or talk to her, impress, flex, ect. I was talking to the shining nymph of the forsaken Rec Center! (no big deal.) 

Afterwards Steve, the Head Coach came in and took over so Jill and I got to leave early (Jill asked Steve if i could leave with her ;) ).  On the way out she was somewhat teasing me and the way i talked to myself ... don't ask.  But was it flirting?? ... my "being hit on" sensors were starting to tingle.  Jill offered to follow me to a gas station .. I was out of gas and she was worried if I would make it home.  As well, she was gonna guide me to the Freeway ... I get major lost when it's dark in Utah ... I get disoriented without the moutons to guide me.  Was she just being genuinely kind? or was interested in my well being due to have some sparks of a crush for me? beats me, but i hope its the second one.  It seems like a lot of effort she put in to be just friends but as you can tell, i made it home safely as i'm writing this update to the lame blog.  Sooo what do you think? flirt? or a good friend? .... Stayed tuned for more on the friend/love confused, secretly wanting a realtionship boy story ... thanks!

On a Wednesday, at a Cafe. I watched it Begin Again.

So. It has been a way long while since I've been on my blog. So i'm gonna retry and keep this up to date as possible!

Like most people this week, i as well bought the new Taylor Swift album, Red.  I have been eating ages for this album to come out! Boy, was i pleased with the outcome.  She expressed in her prologue that Red was a random spontaneous album about the quick fall in and fall out of love.  So there are great pop tracks, a dub step track, and many acoustic country ballads.  The lyrics really show her creative depth and her unique ability to paint a picture in your head.  Today she released her new video for her second single, "Begin Again".  It was one of my favorite tracks due to the lyrics.  All in all.  I highly recommend you buy this album.  You will thank me later ;)

Nate!!

Well today was a great day! Nate was on a Military leave/break thing for a bit so he came up to Logan to hangout with us today. He brought his lovely Swedish girlfriend, which we all like. We had a great time, we just chatted and caught up on each others life, especially Nate's and his experiences in the military.

I'll be honest, i could never endure and take what these guys dish out, so high respects for Nate on that. Especially the punishments. Nate was telling us about how he had to do intense 20 minute training/punishment over crossing his legs wrong. They make him go to a dirt pit, and do various, strenuous commands for 20 minutes. It sounds awful and how they treat you like dirt. Bleh.

Megan, Mel, Nate and his gf, and I went to the mall, chilled out and fed the ducks at 1st dam, and we finished our hangout at Rumbi (which was delicious i might say). All and all I had a great time hanging out with Nate. Hopefully we will be able to hangout with him again when he comes back for another break.

On sadder news, Megan E messed up her ankle while she was skateboarding so I had to drop off Megan K at the hospital to keep an eye on her. I hope all is well for Megan E. Oh actually just got a txt. She had a bone chip, sound gross and kinda painful. Well hope she gets well soon!

Oh! and I've fallen in love with country music! Especially with this dude Hunter Haynes music. His stuff is awesome, and it is the country i like to listen to.

The Night the Sun Came Up

Hmm well Dev's new album finally came out ... about time. I gotta say i was a little bummed. I was hoping they were gonna put all of her big hit songs, but only some of them are on here. The beats are addicting and i like to listen to it but it is okay. I recommend "In my Trunk" and "Lightspeed" ... considering you already have the "In the Dark" single which is awesome! I admit this chick is kinda cool ... i mean look at these cool pics! Plus we both share the same name, so she has to be cool... its the requirement to be named Devin!

10 Hours = 0.o

Well i calculated how long I have spent in front of some form of T.V. this weekend while watching conference... and it has concluded to 10 hours ... ugh yeah my butt is not happy about sitting that long.

Megan K and I are currently back at Collegeville, aka Logan, and we have about 4 weeks left till we are done with school!! Ah can't wait I am so excited to have a break from all this school. I decided on the way here that I will probably major in graphic design. Graphic design sounds cool because you can use it in many different aspects ... = you won't get bored doing your job!

Oh and Eric N and I over the weekend went visited out old beloved place, the South Davis Recreation Center. We stopped by to see if our bosses were around to ask them what we would need to do in order to get our jobs back. I'm planning to work there as my plan B.. or Plan C... i really to be honest rather not work there, but I did really enjoy the time I was there. Hopefully i will not have to do swimming lessons again. I'm kinda tired of those but i still love guarding! Luckily i have some old friend still there like Spencer S and Zac. Gah Saturday! ... on brighter news

Well this weekend is General Conference, for those who don't know it is a large public broadcasting of our general authorities and our prophet. I honestly do like this weekend, but I do wish they were shorter. I love them and all, but I don't have the attention span to watch 10 hours worth of talks (priesthood session included). But i have enjoyed the sessions and the wise words they tell us. Oh oh! and i saw David Archuleta singing in the missionary choir! I thought it was pretty cool.

Between the breaks me and my dad were trying to get my car, Kyefin (Key-eh-fin), to pass inspection so he can get registered. Kyefin passed safety easily but he has a stupid engine light that will not go away. My dad has found a cool trick to keep it off and have it pass the tests, but this year Kyefin has been a drama queen. I drove about a 100 miles today with no avail. So sadly i don't think I will be able to drive this week. My dad will either have it repaired down here, or do the test again, but we are not sure. So wish me luck, hopefully we can get my car to be street legal once again. Oh and on better and brighter news, Megan E uploaded more photos of Levitation. I really love the one she did of herself, see for yourself!

Mint Dollop Cookies

Ah well, throughout the day I had this craving for salt. Tho I didn't have any chips or snacks that contained salt (being a poor college student). I found some popcorn kernels so i popped those babies up and loaded them with salt. It was satisfying at first but didn't do to well once it got into my stomach. But as usual, when I satisfy one craving, another one comes crawling out from the shadows. My sweet tooth was kicking in and I had to make something or I would go kanips. So I made some chocolate cookies since I had no chocolate chips. Then whipped up some mint frosting and VVVWALAAA! These adorable yet tasty cookies were the result. I call them ... Mint Dollop Cookies ... very smart, I know.

Gonna go share them later with some gals, haha yup, I am Peeta Malark from Hunger Games, baking my way into every girls heart. Wait till they get a taste of these babies ;).

R.I.P Walter

Well the other day when i was guarding the morning swim class, i came across a little jumping spider on my chair. His name was Walter. Walter and i became instant friend the moment my eyes and his multiple eyes met. For the next hour we both watched the water to ensure that no one drowns. Towards the end of my shift i was happy i made a friend, Walter, the spider that lived on the guard stand. Unfortunately, a series of unfortunate events occurred and i was notified by my boss, Kathleen, that one of the other guards became scared and worrisome at the sight of Walter that he was brutally killed by a guard tube. I was sad to know my new friend had passed on. But i knew in my heart, Walter, would always be with me, watching the water with his four shiny eyes.

Levitation

I had a great/ugh day today! The school part is kinda sucky as usual. But later that day Megan E and Megan K and I went off on a Levitation photo day. We stop by the bowling alley in Logan cuz it had a sweet wall to take pictures on. Megan E knows how to do a photoshop trick to make us look like were levitating. She did awesome! Haha and Megan K got some Pepsi in her and she went ballistic for about 20 minutes then crashed. She was attempting to do handstand on her desk which = crazy. Well this day had ended really well with some great friends, some great laughs, and some great pictures to remember them with.

Keep .... on ... Going

Ugh we have about 5 weeks of school (not counting finals week) but i really am looking forward to going home. Now that i have a taste of what this "living on your own" feels like. I honestly don't feel like I'm ready. I need a better job for sure if i wanted to live on my own. It takes a lot of money to live haha. Well it has been a good week so far made delicious cupcakes yesterday with Megan Kofford and Megan Evans. Megan E is an amazing cook, she cooks everything and anything! Today is kinda a sucky day mainly cuz its Terrible Tuesday where i have 6 classes and it is killer. On the brighter side I'm "officially" friends with a girl named Julie from my gymnastics class. She is really nice and hopefully we can be good friends! Well cherio gotta go to work soon!

Oh Oh! and I'm almost done with writing my amateur album! it looks like its gonna be pretty sweet. I decided i'll record it on my own cuz it is really expensive to record professionally. So i will keep up to date more on it. Still trying to figure a name for it. I'm gonna ask Megan E if she can help with the making of the album cover. I'm going for this album cover look, i especially like the yellow.

Goal: Wolf!

So ever since i discovered those cool tye dye (however you spell it) wolf shirts at walmart, I've been on the search for more to add to my wonderful wardrobe. I acquired two from walmart... before everyone bought them all and i got one from my friend Nate for christmas. I went to DI with Megan to find ugly sweater and i stumbled across this one!! It is truly my favorite out of all of them. The best part is that i used the tag on the back to find the website were they have even more wolf shirts!! Well next time i have some money lying around, i'll definitely will be purchasing some more. I, Devin Banner, will start this trend!

A week ago i was nearly crying from laughter from her disastrous SNL performances. I thought she was a joke and i was quite cruel. But a week or two passed and her album came up on iTunes. Intrigued as usual i sampled the songs and found them different and awesome ... so i bought the album ... yeah i know. The more i listened i really enjoyed the music... though i did wish she put more emotion into her music. But all and all i really enjoyed the album if you wanna go ahead and listen to it!

First Aid Kit!

Ah! so this morning i looked on iTunes to see if anything new was abounding upon the site. Soon to see this wonderful band known as the First Aid Kit had their single as the "single of the week" i gave it a listen... and boy was i impressed! This duo is kinda like Mumford and Sons mixed with the Veronicas! = purely epic folk music!

Elevator Drama ...

Yes, i have troubles with the elevators ... many occasions ill get into the elevator and i would often forget to even press a button. After several moments of elapsed time do i finally realize i have not reached my destination ....

Today! i went into the elevator with a lassie, and i didn't even press my floor. Once she got off i realized i didn't press my floor... and the moment i try the elevator takes me to the first floor were I'm delightfully welcomed by Jessica Dixon and her roommate Brooke. An awkward moment with a warm ending as we go to our floors!

Hunger ... Games!

Read this book in one night! I'm literally shaking from anticipation for the movie which comes out March.... i'll admit i cried during a certain part (readers know what I'm talking about) haven't friend over a book since "For One More Day" by Mitch Album .. if thats how you spell it
